Being a Driving Instructor in Barrow in Furness is a fantastic job. It provides a wonderful opportunity to meet lots of different people who share the common desire of wanting to learn to drive.
Once qualified by passing the DVSA examinations a Driving Instructor can choose what type of work they wish to pursue. For many years I taught weekly driving lessons in Barrow in Furness and enjoyed great success, but I always thought that there should be something else.
I took a course entitled Coaching and Development for Driver Trainers. This is a BTEC IV and is a recognised OFQUAL qualification. The basic outline of the course was recognising how people learn and how to adopt various solutions to engage people in their development both as drivers and on a personal level.
During my years of Driver Training I've always taught Intensive Driving Courses in Barrow in Furness, but the last three years I have been dedicated solely to Intensive Driving Courses. There has always been a demand for people to learn to drive quickly, it could be pressure from work or a family need. Whatever the need, it's been a privilege to help people get on the road.
Intensive Driving Courses certainly aren't a short cut or an easy route to a Driving Licence they involve a lot of hard work and commitment. But it is worth it!
